Privacy Policy

This page explains how Lumin Marketing Group LTD. collects, uses, protects, and discloses personal information.

Last updated: May 16, 2026

This policy is provided for transparency and general business compliance. It is not legal advice. Lumin should have this reviewed by a qualified Canadian privacy lawyer as the business adds new tools, analytics, advertising, assisted workflows, or client data processes.

1. Who this policy applies to

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information Lumin Marketing Group LTD. collects through this website, booking forms, email, phone, social media messages, project inquiries, and normal business communications.

This policy is written for Lumin's current operations as an Edmonton, Alberta marketing and content creation business. It is intended to support compliance with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where applicable, and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) for commercial electronic messages.

2. Privacy Officer and accountability

Lumin is responsible for personal information under its control and has designated a Privacy Officer contact for privacy questions, access requests, correction requests, withdrawal of consent, and complaints.

Privacy Officer contact: info@luminmarketinggroup.com. If Lumin later names a specific individual publicly for this role, this policy should be updated to include that name and title.

3. Personal information we collect

When you contact Lumin, we may collect your name, business name, email address, phone number, social media handle, website, project details, service interests, budget or timing context you choose to provide, and records of our communications with you.

For client projects, Lumin may also collect or receive business contact details, billing details, contracts, project assets, brand files, social media account details, website access details, photos, videos, audio, testimonials, reviews, customer lists, lead information, advertising audience information, or other materials a client provides for the project.

When you use the website, our hosting and security providers may process basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referring URL, request times, and security logs. This helps keep the website working, secure, and reliable.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information through the website. Please do not submit private financial, health, government identification, or other sensitive information through the project form.

4. Why we collect and use information

Lumin collects and uses personal information for reasonable business purposes, including responding to inquiries, recommending a scope, preparing proposals, providing marketing, website, content, SEO, and brand presence services, managing client relationships, invoicing, sending project communications, improving the website, preventing spam or abuse, meeting legal obligations, and protecting our rights.

If you submit a project inquiry, we use the information to respond to that inquiry and discuss services you asked about. We do not treat a project inquiry as consent to receive unrelated marketing emails unless you separately opt in or the law otherwise permits the communication.

5. Consent, CASL, and choices

By submitting information to Lumin, you consent to Lumin collecting, using, and disclosing that information for the purposes described in this policy or explained at the time of collection.

Lumin may ask for separate express consent before sending optional newsletters, promotions, lead nurture, or other commercial electronic messages. You can submit a project inquiry without opting into marketing messages. Any commercial electronic message should identify Lumin and include a working unsubscribe mechanism where CASL requires it.

You may withdraw consent, request access to your personal information, ask for corrections, or ask questions about Lumin's privacy practices by contacting us. Some information may need to be kept where required for legal, security, accounting, dispute, contract, or business record purposes.

6. Sharing, service providers, and cross-border processing

Lumin does not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate the website and business, such as hosting, form delivery, email, communications, file storage, project management, analytics, security, and deployment providers.

Current or expected service-provider categories may include website hosting and deployment providers such as Vercel, communications tools such as Slack or email providers, domain/DNS providers, file storage, project management tools, analytics or security tools if enabled, and social, advertising, or website platforms needed for client work.

Some providers may process or store information outside Alberta or Canada, including in the United States or other jurisdictions. When information is handled by those providers, it may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where it is processed or stored. Lumin uses reasonable care when choosing providers and limits access to what is needed for the service.

7. Cookies, analytics, pixels, and external links

The public website uses essential technical features needed to load pages, protect forms, serve images, and maintain website security.

The website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate, non-identifying usage such as which pages are viewed, general location, device and browser type, and how visitors arrive. This relies on cookies and similar identifiers, and the data is processed by Google acting as a service provider on Lumin's behalf, as described in Google's Privacy Policy and Google's "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" page. Lumin also uses Vercel Speed Insights to measure aggregate website performance. You can opt out of Google Analytics through your browser settings, by blocking or deleting cookies, or with Google's opt-out browser add-on.

If Lumin later adds advertising pixels, remarketing tags, or other social or marketing tracking tools, this policy will be updated to describe those tools and any consent choices that apply.

The website links to third-party platforms such as Google, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, X, Vercel, and other tools. Those websites and platforms have their own privacy practices, and Lumin is not responsible for how they collect, use, or disclose information.

8. Safeguards, retention, and breach response

Lumin uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, disclosure, or alteration. No website, email system, or online service can be guaranteed completely secure.

Lumin keeps personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, for active or potential client relationships, and for legal, accounting, security, backup, dispute, and business record requirements. As a working guideline, unconverted lead-form information should be reviewed for deletion after 24 months unless there is a lawful reason to keep it longer, and client project records may be retained for commercial, accounting, portfolio, warranty, dispute, and legal record purposes.

Lumin should maintain an internal breach register and response process. If a privacy breach creates a real risk of significant harm or otherwise triggers a legal reporting requirement, Lumin will take reasonable steps to assess the incident and notify the appropriate regulator and affected individuals where required by applicable law.

9. Quebec and other jurisdictions

Lumin primarily operates from Alberta and is focused on Canadian business clients. If Lumin actively solicits or accepts Quebec clients or handles Quebec-resident personal information in a way that triggers Quebec Law 25, additional requirements may apply, including French-language requirements, privacy impact assessments for certain cross-border transfers, profiling notices, and data portability rights.

If you are located outside Alberta, you may have additional rights under the privacy laws that apply where you live or where the relevant business activity occurs.

10. Children

Lumin's website and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this website.

11. Access, correction, and complaints

You may request access to personal information Lumin holds about you, ask for corrections, or make a privacy complaint by contacting Lumin at the email address below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

If a concern is not resolved, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or another applicable privacy regulator depending on which privacy law applies.

12. Updates

Lumin may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the website, services, tools, or legal requirements change. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
